Eligible families can access reduced preschool fees through the NSW Government’s Start Strong Fee Relief Program. This makes long-day care more affordable for children in the two years before school. How We Support Families with the Start Strong Fee Relief Program
From January 2026, eligible preschoolers at Kids United Early Learning Centre can access the NSW Government’s Start Strong Fee Relief Program. This program is designed to make long-day care more affordable for families. Families with children aged 4 years (on or before 31 July 2026) can receive up to $2,563 per year. Children aged 3 years, not yet 4, can access up to $769 per year.
Children who don’t meet the maximum-rate criteria may still be eligible for the standard rate. This is $1,783 for 4-year-olds and $423 for 3-year-olds.
The fee relief is spread across the year, directly reducing your child’s fees. It only applies for the period your child is enrolled, ensuring fair support for every eligible family. Start Strong NSW: Am I Eligible?
Kids United Early Learning Centre helps families access Start Strong Fee Relief to make preschool affordable. For 2026, children may be eligible if they meet the following criteria:
Age
- 3 years old (or turning 3) on or before 31 July 2026 → fee relief up to $423 or $769
- 4 years old (or turning 4) on or before 31 July 2026 → fee relief up to $1,783 or $2,563
Enrolment
- Must be enrolled in an eligible early childhood education program
Exclusive Funding
- Cannot receive Start Strong fee relief from more than one service at a time
All NSW families are eligible, regardless of citizenship or residency. Start Strong funding is additional to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and does not affect CCS entitlements.
Children may qualify for the maximum fee relief if they meet equity criteria, including:
Being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Attending a service in Regional or Remote NSW
Enrolled at a service in a SEIFA decile 1–2 area
Attending an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation

Families at Kids United Early Learning Centre can easily claim the Start Strong Affordable Preschool Fee Relief for 2026. To get started, complete the Fee Relief Declaration and Consent Form. Be sure to name Kids United Early Learning Centre as the service where your child will receive the support. Our team will provide the form and guide you through the process.
